Movements PUSH
1. Biased opinions
The biggest obstacle that stands in the way of Sahara's growth and international recognition is the outside world's perception. Unfortunately, we often associate Africa with bad things like dirty, filled with corruption etc. This is a sad reality. A country's image is really important in order to attract foreigners and Sahara just does not have that--yet. For example, people like the United States because it is a dynamic, strong country; France and Japan because of their beauties (I mean the city's scenery, not the women) and Singapore because of its cleanliness and diversity. But back to Africa, I think there needs to be improvements regarding the image of the continent to make itself attractive.
PULL
1. Abundant resources
As shown in previous pages, Africa boasts a large amount of natural resources. Thus, it is surely an attraction to corporate companies and investors who often come to the Sahara in search for rare, valuable resources at a relatively cheaper price. Such resources include diamonds, the richest element in the world.
2. Fast growing
Sub-Saharan Africa is growing at a rapid pace and is considered to be the fastest growing place universally. It has lately been involved in many international affairs, the most important of which is the World Cup. South Africa was given the honor to host the World Cup next year. Holding such an important, glorious event is an undeniable evidence that Sahara is starting to be show its potentials and is being recognized around the world. It also displays the stable economy of the region, since hosting such a big event requires great financial capability.
